USER NOTES:
These data represent coral reef location in the Florida Keys. These data were created in conjunction with the Atlas of Artificial Reefs in Florida 4th edition of the Florida Sea Grant Program. Point locations were generated from the atlas and digitized in ArcInfo at a 1:40,000 scale by FMRI.
A note concerning data scale:
Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modelling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data.
1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level.
1:250000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger.
Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analyses. Every effort has been made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact section of this documentation. For more information regarding scale and accuracy, see our web pages at:

FGDL QUALITY ASSURANCE STATUS:
-Reprojected data to FGDL Albers HPGN (See "Map Projection Parameters" below) -Upcased all character records -Changed original file name from "camra_mrgis_reefnames_1990" to "reefnm" -Removed items; Polygonid, Scale, Area, Perimeter and Angle. -Dropped old internal coverage items: Reefnms_, Reefnms_id

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
In Feb 2002, the GeoPlan Center obtained this data in shapefile format from the FWC FMRI Marine Resources GIS Corporate Data CD. When received, data was in the following projection: Albers, Datum: NAD 83 HPGN, Spheroid: GRS80, Units: Meters. The dataset name was changed from camra_mrgis_reefnames_1990 to reefnm, and lowercase characters within the attribute table were upcased. The following items were deleted from the data attributes; Polygonid, Scale, Area, Perimeter and Angle. Old internal coverage items: Reefnms_, Reefnms_id were also dropped.
